Pfaff
Hello there
I'm musing about writing more on my blogs but don't know which to use. I currently write regularly to Zafu Lolly www.zafulolly.blogspot.co.uk but I'm not quite sure that's enough.
There is a lot more to life than meditation, considering I only do it for around 45 mins a day. However, apparently I am supposed to be mindful 24/7 but that is proving to be a task and a half. I'm looking longingly at these fried broad beans but have just had to dash to the loo for an evac which I believe has been caused by over-consumption.
Anyhoo, the view is pretty good up here, but now I must return to the task at hand. Until another time.

Hello again, maybe?
Time flies when you're golfing! Can't believe I haven't posted for so long. Well what's happened? Several contracts later, a stint in Wales where I got to play a Welsh course...Peterstone Lakes. Was very nice.
Been away to Thorney Park, came back to the Drift. Handicap will be officially 18.8 in the New Year.
Well at least it's got the right number at the front!
Quite a busy successful year, won three trophies and a charity day...
Had a period of injury in January so was a bit dire. But now the shoulder is ok unless I go a bit mad and hit 300 balls in an evening.....now the knee is a little unstable but having regular physio which has got me through the summer.
Winter golf is tough, it's easier to carry but tiring.

Look after your golf balls...
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles roll
ed into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’
The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed..
‘Now,’ said the professor as the laughter subsided, ‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things—-your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions—-and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.. The sand is everything else—-the small stuff.
‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ he continued, ‘there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.
If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and mow the lawn.
Take care of the golf balls first—-the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented. The professor smiled and said, ‘I’m glad you asked.’ The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.

Shake shake shake yer body!
Well it's a few weeks on and so far I've done 3 training walks with my training partner - so far so good! Last two weeks did 6. 5 miles. Last Sunday played golf in the howling wind, then walked as well so a bit knackered to say the least!
Have been walking at lunch time through out to the week and also adding a walk in the evening to a tube stop down the line. Tonight walked from office to King's Cross - not bad - 45 mins. This Friday will walk to Piccadilly and see if I can up the pace.
Feeling fairly feisty, no flu/cough, so on on!

Walked round the park with the lovely A. yesterday. Apparently we did 4 miles. Ok was feeling some aches and pains because I had played golf on Saturday and also just before the walk on Sunday...but I did win the medal! So next week, the same again but we will be doing 5 miles straight off....Tomorrow trying me new trainers...hopefully won't put my colleague off...
